Think of your garden as a metaphor for yourself
I’ve always loved the act of rituals but have grown to really value the importance of the little things that we can do everyday that can make a big difference to our happiness and overall outlook on life.
We are intimately connected with nature.
My home allows me to connect with the rhythms of nature easily everyday. My yard backs on to a forest that sings with the sound of birds, wind in the trees and a trickling water fall. When I had my youngest with me 24/7, I was not able to keep up with the maintenance and I let it go. It took a very long time and lots of sweat to bring it back to a state where it was finally starting to thrive and not be strangled by weeds. I now use my garden as a place to regulate, check-in with myself and equalise my energy. I have learnt that ignoring my plants for too long will give me a lot of work to bring them back to vibrant life.
Even if it’s some herbs on the window sill, a garden or a couple of house plants. You can connect with the energy of nature, as it inspires, soothes, supports, teaches, heals and calms. It is evident if we forget to tend our plants just as it is with ourselves. I encourage you to engage with intention and to value the little rituals and meditations that bring joy for a few moments everyday. Misting your plants, making your morning coffee, or standing in the sunlight or moonlight barefoot on a patch of earth.
Synchronise your body with nature to lower blood pressure and increase serotonin levels. Find the balance between being in control of your health and allowing if to grow it’s own way.
